Earth Day Repotting Workshop
Now spring has sprung, it’s repotting season! Here at Plant Shop, we are frequently asked for advice on repotting. Many of our customers are unsure about this aspect of plant care; this means they put it off, thus stunting the growth of their plants. Repotting can be a daunting process, particularly when you’ve never done it before. The objective is to get an indoor plant out of one pot, and into a larger pot, without any casualties. However, you may not know what tools are needed, or which steps to take.
That’s why we decided to celebrate Earth Day with a free repotting session. Earth Day is all about giving birth to the Earth, and we wanted to give back to our customers, too. By teaching you all how to nurture your plants this repotting season, we can keep our world and homes flourishing, and keep the oxygen flowing. Our world would be nothing without plants and nature, so it’s so important to support and conserve what we have. Say no to fast-fashion plants and say yes to sustainable materials and practices - and this means taking care of your plants and allowing them to grow!
Amy Jayne joined as a host for this session. The event involved a live demonstration, meaning attendees observed the process and learnt the skills to help them to repot at home. Attendees then had the opportunity to ask our expert questions about the process. Amy was a Manager here at Plant Shop for two years; you might recognise her from back in the day, when she managed our Sale and Altrincham shops. She now works in the horticultural industry, re-joining us for this workshop to impart her plant wisdom!
If you missed on the session - don't worry - we’ve compiled our top repotting tips for you:
We hope you found these tips helpful - and can put them to use to pamper your houseplants this growing season. Happy repotting!
